Fringe@Four Presents Ian Smith Live in Dubai at Warehouse Four on Wednesday 27 February 2019.
Multi-award winning comedian Ian Smith presents his critically acclaimed fifth solo show at Warehouse Four on Weds 27 Feb!
Craft is a multimedia stand-up show about indecision and, at long last, origami. It’s also about Ian's time in New Zealand last year and his strange experience in the glow worm caves of Waitomo…
Getting outside and getting a hobby are important, so Ian has embraced origami. There’s stories about visiting a glow worm cave, the danger of moving the cursor when watching Netflix and a joke about a dog.
Also, thanks to the legend of the senbazuru, which promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the Gods - there will be a live wish granting at the end. Exciting stuff!
Supporting Ian on stage as host and compare will be Dubai's 'First Lady of Comedy', Mina Liccione.
Mina along with husband Al Al Sayed are the founders of Dubomedy, the UAE's local comedy pioneers now celebrating 10 years of funny-making business in the desert!
Ian’s Edinburgh Fringe shows have received critical acclaim, award-nominations and runs at Soho Theatre. In 2015 he was part of the hugely successful, award-winning, Richard Gadd - Waiting for Gaddot.
His fourth solo show, Snowflake, was critically acclaimed, winning an Amused Moose Comedy Award and a ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award. He was also invited to perform the show at New Zealand Comedy Festival.
Ian has appeared on BBC Three at the Fringe, BBC3 panel show Sweat the Small Stuff and Channel 5 series The Funny Thing About...
He is also one third of Dave podcast, The Magic Sponge, alongside Rob Beckett, and regularly writes on The News Quiz and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).
