Wynne Evans sings regularly to millions as part of the Go Compare TV advertising campaign that has made him a household name as the spoof opera star Gio Compario.
Although he is a spoof opera star in the insurance adverting campaign, Wynne is a professionally trained opera singer with over 25 years experience and a classical chart No.1 album.
Born in South West Wales, UK, Wynne studied at the illustrious Guildhall of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio in London.
Throughout his career, Wynne has worked at The Royal Opera House, Paris Opera De Lyon and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
As a principal tenor with the Welsh National Opera, his many roles included DUCA Rigoletto, RODOLFO La Bohème, ALFREDO La Traviata, and TAMINO The Magic Flute.
He has appeared throughout the UK, with companies such as Opera North, English National Opera, Scottish Opera and Grange Park Opera, and has recorded several operas including Salome, Ariadne Auf Naxos and Les Martyrs.
Joining Wynne on stage will be internationally renowned opera stars Rachel Joyce, Maria Jones and David Kempster; accompanied by Glyndebourne’s Kelvin Lim.

- Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break.
If you are driving and plan to self-park, there are underground parking spaces available.
- Paid parking spaces in very close proximity to Dubai Opera are available at Green Parking.
- Green Parking is a flat rate of AED 40 per visit starting from 2 hours before the show.
- You can access the P3 underground parking entrance on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, the entrance to the underground parking is located just after the Dubai Opera hashtag on the right.
Wearing a face mask is mandatory at all times even inside the auditorium, gloves are optional.
- We have limited our seating capacity to maintain social distancing within the auditorium.
