Emirates Airline Festival of Literature presents The Path to Publication: Allison K Williams, Luigi Bonomi & Sam Copeland at InterContinental Dubai Festival City on Thursday 4 February 2021.
Join us as we reveal the winner and runners-up of the LitFest Writing Prize 2021! Literary agent and prize judge Luigi Bonomi will join us to announce the winners, award them their prizes and introduce their books-in-progress.
All competition entrants are invited to attend this session and to attend the panel immediately following.
In a panel that will be immediately relevant to winners of the LitFest Writing Prize but of interest to all aspiring writers, Allison K Williams, Luigi Bonomi and Sam Copeland discuss the issues writers face when they start looking to get published.
Finding an agent, finding an editor, finding the patience and self-discipline to deal with endless redrafting… it can all seem a bit daunting, but our panelists will share their substantial experience in finding a path to publication.
Sam Copeland is an experienced literary agent at the RCW Agency, where he represents a diverse roster of award-winning authors across multiple genres.
He is also the author of a number of children’s books including Charlie Changes Into a Chicken.
Allison K Williams is a writer, editor, speaker and coach well-known in the UAE for her services as an “Unkind Editor” and for her workshops and writing talks.
She hosts the Brevity podcast and her new book is Seven Drafts: Self-Edit Like a Pro From Blank Page to Book.
Luigi Bonomi is a literary agent who has launched the careers of many bestselling authors.
He is the founder of Luigi Bonomi Associates (LBA), which represents a variety of authors, journalists and writers, including John Humphrys, Esther Rantzen and past Emirates Airline Festival of Literature attendee Alan Titchmarsh.
The panel will be moderated by Flora Rees, who in addition to her role as Head of Programming at Emirates LitFest is a book editor specialising in structural editing.
Luigi Bonomi and Sam Copeland will be appearing virtually.
