Dubai Concert Committee World Classical Music Series is proud to announce a unique gala concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra together with star violinist Elli Choi on Saturday 16 November 2019.


Elli Choi, an already seasoned performer at the young age of only seventeen, is quickly establishing herself as one the most talented violinists of her generation.

She has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Middle East and has collaborated with well know orchestras at esteemed venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, the David H. Koch Theater, Carnegie Hall, the Mann Music Center The Stradivari Society in Chicago, Dvorak Hall, Tonhalle in Zurich, Berliner Philharmonie, just to name a few.

Elli was born in 2001, San Diego, California and is studying at the Juilliard Pre-College since 2009 at the age of seven.

Elli was the youngest finalist at the Montreal Violin Competition 2019 and the youngest participant at the 16th Tchaikovsky
Competition 2019 in Moscow.

In April 2018 Elli has replaced David Garret, to perform two concerts in Interlaken Classic Festival, Switzerland.

Elli plays a legendary Matteo Goffriller violin from1698, Venice, Italy.

Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO)
Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) is a unique group of young musicians in the UAE and the Arab world at large, devoted to cultivating the musical talent of youngsters, by creating a cultural and artistic environment for young talents, for young and adult audiences.

EYSO was the first of its kind in the UAE, established in 1994, made up of only 12 of his students. By 1998, membership increased to nearly 50 musicians of more than 30 nationalities living in UAE who played a major role in the development of the musical culture in Dubai through many of the concerts performed.

Since 2000, the Orchestra has been invited to perform at International Youth Music Festivals and events, proudly representing the UAE Classical Music scene.

Through the years, more than 500 violinists have joined the EYSO and the National Conservatory under the tutorage of Mr. Kudsi. Several members continued their higher musical education in advanced music universities abroad and have become world-renowned musicians. 

Riad Kudsi
A Czech National of Syrian origin, began learning the violin from his father at the age of seven. He then joined the National Conservatory of Aleppo, Syria to become one of its most promising violinists.

He was nominated for a full scholarship to continue his music studies in Prague, where he finished his Masters of Arts degree with distinction in 1979.

He performed violin recitals, played as a soloist in many International orchestras in a number of European and Arab capitals.

Since moving to the UAE in 1986, Mr. Kudsi has been contributing towards the development of the musical culture through teaching, practical training through his Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) established in 1994, and through organizing cultural and charitable concerts and classical music festivals.
