Alserkal Avenue, the region’s foremost arts hub, was established in 2007 to encourage and support the regions burgeoning contemporary art scene.
Our aim is to foster an organic and prolific creative community in the UAE.
Situated in Dubai’s industrial quarter, the Avenue is a cluster of architect-designed warehouses.
It is home to interspersed public spaces that bring together collaborators from diverse artistic disciplines; encouraging open dialogue, sharing of ideas and a collaborative work ethic that can see these creative ideas come to life.
Initially a group of 20 warehouses, the addition of our 2015 expansion has welcomed several new galleries and creative businesses.
Spread across 500,000 square feet, we house numerous galleries of international repute, dynamic art spaces, and homegrown cultural initiatives. These include not-for-profit artists’ studios, residency programmes, project spaces, concept stores, black box theatre, independent cinema, outdoor event facilities and community-led cultural initiatives, as well as unique food and beverage outlets.
The vision for Alserkal Avenue has always been to build a home for creative industries.
It maps a vital intersection for the confluences of art, culture and development. To this end, we are more than just a neighbourhood; we are an arts organisation with an active homegrown programme; we are the driving force that bring the community together to support and encourage a creative economy; we are a platform via which regional artists and art initiatives can reach a wider, international audience.

At Alserkal Avenue, we wear a number of hats; in addition to being a geographical centre for Dubai’s fast-growing creative community, we are keen supporters of the MENASA’s burgeoning contemporary arts scene, encouraging artists from the region and bringing their work to the attention of international audience.
As a neighbourhood, Alserkal Avenue brings dynamism to Dubai’s arts community- the galleries are diverse, representing emerging mid-career and established artists.
We accommodate exhibitions, talks, panel discussions, Young Collector’s Auctions and community-based festivals that celebrate the arts, food and creativity. In our capacity as a neighbourhood, we also offer venues for members of the community to host private events.
A natural progression of our dedication to the arts, Alserkal Avenue Programming was launched in 2015, affirming our position as a regional arts organisation.
Our programme is comprised of commissions, talks and screenings, by emerging regional artists who deserve the recognition and have displayed a consistent depth of work and creative enterprise.
In all that we do, our mission is always to expand our horizons and provide the opportunity to discover different forms of creative expression, uncover new perspectives and learn more about different cultures.
