Desert Warrior Challenge brings you fun and challenging obstacle courses, designed to test the physical strength, mental toughness, team-work and overall fitness of each and every Warrior is back at new venue Al Qudra Lakes on Friday 11 January 2019. 

THE COURSES
Extreme Warrior the most hardcore warriors

• 20+km with 30+ obstacles
• Each Warrior will be wearing a timing device for the duration of the course
• This is a TIMED RACE for the hardcore warriors who want to compete for the DWC title
• Teams and individuals welcome to participate - team finish times will be recorded when last team member crosses the line

Ultimate Warrior the main event

• Start and Finish line within Warrior Base camp
• 10+ km of track to navigate
• 20+ obstacles scattered throughout the course
• Teams and individuals welcome to participate
• Focus is on the accomplishment of completing the course and the ‘Warrior Reward’

Fearless Warrior warriors in training

• Start and Finish line within Base camp
• 5+ km of track to navigate
• 12+ Obstacles scattered throughout the course
• Teams and individuals welcome to participate
• Focus is on the accomplishment of completing the course and the ‘Warrior Reward’

Junior Warrior warriors of the future

• The Junior Warrior courses will be approximately 1-2km with 8 obstacles
• This category will be open to different ages depending on the event, typically 6-9 and/or 10-15 years old
• All registration are through our online system
• Parents will be allowed to cheer on their Warriors from the side of the track
• This category is not a race, it is focused on all Warriors having a great time while challenging themselves

OBSTACLES
This is what it’s all about…. the obstacles…. the things between you and the finish line, there to push you to your limits and force you dig deep within to find your Inner Warrior.  

From The 1/4 Pipe to The Monster and The Beast through to Claustrophobia, each course will have a variety of obstacles that will demand warriors to run, crawl, jump, climb and most importantly work as a team in order to survive.

HEAT RULES
​Participants registered under the PRO Event Categories will be the only ones eligible for a place on the podium.

A ‘PRO’ athlete would be considered as anyone with under the following times for a 10km sand based obstacle course:
Male = <65mins              Female = <95mins

You may only enter the ‘PRO’ heat if you are genuinely a high-level athlete who fits within the above criteria. We may request you to show proof of previous results to support your place in the ‘PRO’ heat.

Teams registered for the ULTIMATE PRO TEAMS Category must have exactly 4 team members (can be all male, all female or mixed).

WHAT TO WEAR
Here’s your chance to get creative and ‘theme your team’ for chances to win great prizes on the day.

Be it as a team of Superheroes, Ballerinas or Viking Warriors, the possibilities are endless.

All we ask is that you remain culturally aware when kitting up. 

• Closed shoes are compulsory, spikes and cleats are prohibited.
• Gloves, hats and sunscreen are recommended.
• Hydration packs are permitted on the course.
• You will get wet and dirty so bring a change of clothes.
• Handy cams and phones are allowed at your own risk
