Koshur Soz Boz 2019 brings Dr. Deepali Wattal and Mr. Raashid Jehangir two renowned artists from the state of Jammu and Kashmir to perform at Amity University Dubai on Thursday 28 February 2019.
The objective of the organisers is to preserve and promote the declining art form of Kashmiri music among the masses with special focus on youth.
This is the third concert that SOZ BOZ team is organising for the Kashmiri community in Dubai.
Dr. Deepali Wattal
Dr Deepali started to learn music from the tender age of eleven from Pt. Brij Krishen Shahir.
Later on, she learnt classical and light music from Pt. P.N Raina, and Pt. Shanti Kaul respectively.
She is an approved A grade singer from AIR (All India Radio) working as a music lecturer (vocalist) in IMFA (Jammu university).
A highly accomplished singer and composer, Dr Deepali Wattal is a Ph.D. in music from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh.
Dr Deepali has 25 years of singing experience on Door Darshan Kendra and All India Radio, Jammu, Srinagar, Jalandhar, Kathua, Dehradun and Chandigarh and has given live performances in musical concerts all over India and in the West.
She has received numerous awards within the state and internationally (Kenya) and has more than 2000 songs in different languages to her credit.
Mr. Raashid Jehangir
Mr Jehangir is a popular Kashmiri singer with a command over the various genres of Kashmiri music.
He is a Music Graduate from The Institute of Music & Fine Arts, Srinagar University of Kashmir and an “A” grade artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan since 2008.
He has released a number of Kashmiri Music Albums, prominent among them being Firaq, Tanhaa, Hasrat, Intezaar, Gasakh Na Madina and many more.
Raashid Jahangir has also been awarded by a number of cultural and social organizations all over the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
